Complete one paper flower vine following the instructions on the video. See my example on the board. Leave them white to match the prom color theme or black white and gold. Photograph your finished vine and turn it in on Google Classroom. Comment with your name and your partner's name so I know who you worked with. Double Exposure Photoshop Project
Combine a photo of yourself with one or more other photos. The collage design must represent a quote or a poem. It does not have to have a background and it does not have to include text. Your focus is to mask out the background and layer images on top of each other to communicate a quote or poem.
You are being graded on the following:

- You have a copy of the original photo and you clicked the eyeball icon to hide it.
- You masked out the background of your portrait photo.
- You combined 2 or more images.
- You saved it as a PSD "Photoshop Document" and titled it as your name period and double exposure project.
- You made the collage neatly.
- You can clearly explain how your collage represents your quote or poem.

Friday Sub Plans 4/13/18
Watch the 2 Ted Talks and answer the questions on the worksheet. Turn in the completed worksheet to the class folder with the teacher.
Next, each student must get their computers and use Google Classroom to turn in their quote or poem and 2 photos (one of themselves and one that matches the quote or poem).
Then, on page 31 in your sketchbook sketch out 3-4 rough drafts for ideas for your Double Exposure project. How can you use the knowledge you gained from the 2 Ted Talks to apply to your design? Make your design unexpected and creative.
If you finish early you may experiment in Photoshop. The handout (on loan do not keep it) is under the projector. You may use it as a guide to start your Photoshop project and experiment in Photoshop. Your Photoshop project is not due until April 27th.

Last, we will end with POL week leading us to the end of the year. Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator are expensive programs that the school will provide on my class Think Pad computers. If you have never used the trial version some computers support Adobe programs and you can download a 30 day free trial version one time per computer. If you do not have access to that option then you will have to attend Monday, Wednesday, Thursday office hours from 8-9 AM or Friday 9-10 AM. The classroom Think Pads are not allowed to be taken home on loan.

Students are working on their Selfie Museum and Gift Shop project.
Students must write down what they are working on each class so the Accountabill-abuddy can track your collaboration / contribution to your group.
Students are required to put in 4 hours outside of class time to work on the project.
The project must be halfway finished by Monday 3/12 for a progress grade.
Requirement overview

- Your sculpture must be original and eye catching.
- Your sculpture must have a # clearly displayed close to it.
- Your sculpture must be constructed with excellent craftsmanship
- Your gift shop item must visually connect to your sculpture.
- Your gift shop item must be handmade by your group members. You may purchase items but they must be creatively altered in some way.
- Your gift shop item must have a price listed on or near it.
- Your gift shop item must have your group's hashtag on it.
- Your gift shop item must be neatly displayed. You may arrange them neatly on the table in an interesting formation or you may create a creative display to place your merchandise in or on.

Students must choose individual group jobs in each group.
Students will plan out a calendar to make sure their sculpture will be completed on time.
Students will fill out a homework log to make sure they have the necessary supplies to complete their sculpture.
Students will exchange contact information so they can communicate effectively with their group members.

Students finished the slide show on sculpture and instillation art. Students individually drew 4 rough drafts on page 29. It should look like the picture below. 2 drawings must draw 2 different ideas for the sculpture/instillation art and 2 drawings for the gift shop product they plan to sell which must relate to the sculpture/instillation art.
The students presented their ideas to each of their group members and they choose one idea.

Then, I introduced the sculpture portion of the project (click on the Button above that says "Exhibition Slide Show" to view the class lecture.) The sculpture must include the research the students have done on their earthquake topic. Students must describe if they used Ethos, Pathos, and or Logos for their sculpture. We also discussed how students must create something to sell in the gift shop. The sale item must relate to their sculpture.

Students also turned in a photograph of their paper mache superhero on Google Classroom for a progress grade.

On Page 25 of your sketchbook we are practicing drawing a room in 1-point perspective. You must draw the inside of a room and include a rectangle (speaker like shape) on the left on the floor. Then, draw a bench or chair on the right side of the floor. Here is my class example. See me during office hours if you need help.

- Take 5 photos of your worry doll in interesting environments on the day of your field trip. If you do not attend the field trip. You must take the photos at home or at school.
- Turn in your photos in using Google Classroom.
Or see Cari by Thursday for help if you do not have access to a camera.
- Requirements:
- Your 5 photos must be clear and include your doll. (try to hide your fingers the best you can). You can stick or tape the doll onto your eraser if you want to hide your hand.
- The doll must be interacting with the environment. It must be doing something. Think verbs….Example “My doll is riding the roller coaster (from a distance). Remember to consider your background choices. You want the background to add interest or contrast to the art work.
- You cannot arrange anything. Everything has to stay the way you found it, just add your doll to the scene.
- Try to create an optical illusion (like the forced perspective examples below.

Da Vinci Design is offering an amazing opportunity for students to receive 1 college credit through El Camino during Spring semester of 2018. We recently informed students about the opportunity and we wanted to make sure parents were informed so they could talk to their child at home about this unique opportunity. 1. Why take it?
2. You will stay in Cari Maconochie's Art Class and your schedule will NOT change. We do NOT meet outside of art class times. 3. You will have to complete this application process and one extra, quality drawing during Exhibition to meet the honors requirements. 4. You must meet the close deadlines to be enrolled. The deadline for the drawing is Tuesday 1/6/18 and the deadline for the El Camino application is Wednesday 1/7/18. The requirements to apply are as follows:Amusement Park Due: Monday 1/5 or Tuesday 1/6 Directions: Illustrate a made up amusement park using aerial perspective. This type of drawing is called a site plan. Meaning draw the park from a bird’s eye view and include the most important parts of an amusement park. Then, Write a paragraph describing your amusement park design. In this paragraph you are explaining the thought process that went behind each choice you made in your drawing. Turn it in using Google Classroom. Drawing Requirements: (It does not have to be colored)

1. Turn in your superhero drawing at the beginning of class by uploading a picture to Google Classroom.
2. Create a wire armature person.
3. Sculpt the wire armature to make it 3-D using recycled materials and materials provided.
The sculpture is due on Monday or Tuesday. We will not finish in time to finish the sculpture completely. My goal is for you to experiment and practice using recycled or cheaper supplies to create a sculpture which will prepare you for the Exhibition sculpture.
It will be graded on effort and time used wisely in class. Also it will be graded on your explanation of you represented your personality from the personality test.
